What We Believe
The Bible reveals an awesome god full of amazing grace
Our faith is rooted in the teaching of the Bible, the inspired and infallible Word of God, which reveals the Triune God and his message of salvation. As a Reformed, Presbyterian church, our beliefs are summarised in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
The Bible teaches that there is one God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created the world, but mankind fell into sin and became cursed and corrupted. God displayed his mercy and wisdom by revealing his plan in the Old Testament, and fulfilling it in the New Testament, to send Jesus Christ to become the Lord and Saviour of the World. Jesus, the Son of God, gave his life as a ransom for many, in order that sinners might be reconciled to God. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus has overcome all our enemies and offers the gift of eternal life. Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved from their sins, for in trusting Jesus one rises from spiritual death to new life in Christ.
Jesus Christ changes our lives and gives us new purpose to glorify God. Jesus Christ empowers believers to joyfully live a transformed life, a life dominated not by sin but by divine grace. The church is a fellowship of believers who grow together in His love, using the Word of God, Prayer, Baptism, and the Lord's Supper. The church exists to worship God, to strengthen believers, and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations.
